Saving Faith

Throughout the trailer the most notable thing is the style. The trailer is heavily stylized from the music to the messages that appear for a split-second, which is popular in Lost promotions. The purpose of this was so that people will go back and watch the trailer again.

However there are flaws of using this in this type of trailer. One it's a gangster film not a mystery film. This is used in mystery films, this is a gangster film, and people won't be interested in what it says. Second the film is targeted at teenagers, whereas mystery films are targeted at adults who not only have the time to be interested to see what it is but also have the attention span to seek out what it is. While it's a really powerful effect it's pretty much pointless in this trailer.

The lighting in the trailer is dark, which connotes how the film is a thriller. It shows the film's dark and mature theme and in the appropriate times it becomes dark. The costumes vary. In the daytime the main person's wearing casual clothes however at night he wears hoodies and darker clothes which connote he's about to do something bad. The main prop is a gun. This obviously shows the action and thriller side to the film as throughout the second half of the trailer they keep on aiming guns at each other.

The setting in the trailer shows West London where this type of violence is stereotypically found. Some of the movie is filmed on high rooftops. This is so that they could shoot people committing suicide or getting pushed off, this is actually quite common throughout the trailer. One second is filmed at a police interrogation room where the man pulls off his hat as a form of stress, this shows the film's genre and what to expect.

WWW:-

1) You talked about how the music plays a big part in the narrative of the trailer.

2) You talked about how the setting being West London is stereotypically viewed when it comes to violence.

3) You connote on what we would expect if we were to see the film.

EBI:-

1) Use media terminology and talk more about the media language.
